Hi Daniel,

I have created an example test for you to review and I have shared it to you in Alchemy. Check your Shared Suites section.

I have attached my data .csv file here in this comment for you to use.

Here's what the test does:

  1. Navigate to URL
  2. Log in
  3. Verify proper game name displays (left side near top)
  4. Log out
  5. Repeat

Feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions.  michael.deveaux@orasi.com

Hi Daniel,

I tried recording your login scenario, but I'm encountering an error: "Login is not allowed from this country."

No worries—I will redirect this issue to another support team member, and they will get back to you shortly.

Thank you!

If the URLs are publicly available, please share one or two of them.

Please Note:

For Option 2: Using Loop Data Dropdown (DDT setup from Test Info prompt) , you’ll need to generate the executable and run it through the Command Prompt to execute the test across all data rows, as DDT is not supported within the Alchemy UI.

Hi Daniel,

Just a small question — have you added the "wait" or "wait for" action for the video/game content to load?

If not, try adding that- you can find them in Action Toolbox.

Here are the steps you could use to configure the setup:

Option 1: Using Repeat Action with Loop Mode set to Data
In your test, add a Repeat Action with the loop mode set to 'Data'. This method internally calls a Repeat Function to iterate over each data row.

Inside the repeat function, include:

  • Navigate to the current URL → reference the data from the CSV using the Data Toolbox.

  • Wait for login fields to appear → use “Wait” or “Wait for” action.

  • Enter username and password.

  • Click the login button.

  • Wait for content to fully load → use “Wait” or “Wait for" action.

  • Validate video/game content is present or running.

If Option 1 does not work, please try using the second.

Option 2: Using Loop Data Dropdown (DDT setup from Test Info prompt)
From the Test Information prompt, select your CSV file in the loop data dropdown field.

In the test, add the following steps:

  • Navigate to the URL → use a data schema reference from the Data Toolbox.

  • Wait for login fields (username/password) → use “Wait” or “Wait for Element” action.

  • Enter credentials.

  • Submit login.

  • Wait for the video/game content to load → use another “Wait” or “Wait for Element.”

  • Validate the video is visible or playing.

Let me know how it goes or if you run into any issues!

Thanks!

Yes, in Alchemy, you can add a CSV data source by importing your CSV file.

For this, you just have to go to the Data section and add a CSV data source by importing your CSV file.

Later, you can create a new test and enable data-driven testing.

We have a fantastic video on data-driven testing in Alchemy using a data file.

You can watch it using the link below.
