Configure and use GIT integration

Alchemy offers an integration with GIT to make it convenient to add or update your code in a GIT Repository.

This article will show some information regarding integrating with GitHub, but the integration will work with any GIT based SCM solution.

GitHub (or other SCM solution) settings are out of scope of this article. Please check the help files of the solution you are using for proper access configuration.

To "git" started, open the suite you wish to integrate with your GIT solution.

Click on Integrations.

If the GIT Integration is not already present in the Integration List, click on the "+Add Integration" button and select it from the options. The GIT configuration screen will appear.

Fill out the configuration fields. Select the "Allow Delete" checkbox if you wish to allow Alchemy to delete removed files from the GIT repository. Click the Save button.

When you are ready to push your tests to the GIT repository, you can click on any of the "Generate" options (Generate Source, Build Executable or Open Build Queue).

When the generation is done (or you have selected a previous build in the Build Queue), click the View button. Next, click the GIT tab at the top.

Browse to the local GIT repository location, select the appropriate Branch, then click Clone. This will synchronize the local repository with the remote repository.

Now, enter a descriptive Commit Message and click Commit.

At this point you can either click the Push button to Push your changes to the remote repository, or if applicable click the Pull button to add changes to your local repository.
